My Role

Leading the ID Brazilian team and serving as the main connection with the NY team, translating User Research insights into Design Concepts. Final design concept refinement and 3D modeling

Deep dive on improvised party culture

Main insights

To identify common ground across cultures and create a globally suitable solution, the research team visited stores, conducted user interviews and joined social gatherings in São Paulo, Los Angeles, and New York.

The X-grip frame concept

​​​​​After a co-creation workshop with our client, we translated the users needs and aspirations in product attributes to come up with an innovative design solution.

The iconic shape makes easy to carry the speaker in any situation while gives it full protection. Combined with LED illumination, it creates the perfect party atmosphere.

The concept was further developed by LG's internal design team

(LG Design America, Jongho Kim, Minjae Lee, Sooyoung Park, Seonku Kim) and the aesthetics replicated across the entire range, originating the models PK3, PK5, and PK7.
